INTRODUCING THE ANNUAL FUND FOR EFAM

The Annual Fund for EFAM is a critical source of revenue which provides the support necessary to expand upon the outstanding educational experience the French American School of Miami is known for. Your donations enhance our school’s distinctive and challenging education and play a vital role in its development and growth. Participating in the Annual Fund is the most tangible way to express your appreciation for the school and your commitment to its future.

In 25 years, thanks to the amazing efforts of a dedicated community, we have developed one of the most comprehensive, harmonized, and successful bilingual programs in South Florida.

This year, with the large investments we have made to our health and safety infrastructures to adapt our hybrid distance/in-person learning program, support in the Annual Fund is more important than ever. Our expenses have sharply increased with the purchases of additional furniture, protective equipment and sanitation supplies needed to protect our community and to maintain in-person learning. We also limited enrollment to maintain social distancing, therefore student enrollment has decreased this year by 15%. We also hired additional personnel and maintained a very low teacher to student ratio while keeping full salaries for all members of the staff.

We are fortunate that tuition - which remains among the lowest for French schools in North America - covers the majority of the expenses required to keep the school running. Tuition fees cover rents, payroll, utility bills, maintenance, and other increasing operating costs. But there are also a number of things that would not be possible without the Annual Fund, which is usually fed by several small fundraisers (Wine & Cheese, Class Pictures, Christmas Market, No-Uniform day...) throughout regular non-pandemic years.

Every gift, no matter the size, helps to provide hands-on learning through the arts and sciences, outdoor activities and a stimulating bilingual curriculum. Every year, we invest in our teachers’ professional development, providing training in the latest teaching methods and in child development.

EFAM allocates a substantial part of its annual fund to new technology, books, art supplies, science materials and supplies imported from France to improve our students’ daily learning environment.

Your support has the most immediate impact on our students, as it goes directly to the daily needs for discovery, creativity, and open mindedness.

The goal for the 2021 Annual Fund for EFAM is $30,000 and we strive to reach 100% participation from our EFAM community. We encourage all parents, grandparents, and friends of EFAM to contribute. Remember that gifts of all amounts help us achieve our overall goal. Finally, strong community participation shows that our families are enthusiastic about our education model.

Join us in making more things possible by participating in the Annual Fund for EFAM today!

Thank you for your continued support.

REVENIR À L’ÉCOLE EN SÉCURITÉ

RETURNING SAFELY TO CAMPUS

Many families have made plans to travel for this upcoming long weekend.

To ensure that the return to our campuses is done safely, please take note of the following guidelines.

The complete procedures can be found in the EFAM Protocol.

  • All students returning to Miami after traveling or participating in gatherings of 10 or more people while not wearing a mask and not social distancing will be required to stay home and revert to distance learning for 5 school days prior to returning to campus and provide a negative PCR Covid test dated 3 days or less prior to the student’s return on campus.

  • We strongly recommend all families practice self-isolation as described by the CDC after having participated in high risk activities (including transportation other than air travel).

  • Do not send your child to school if you or someone you have been in close contact with is feeling sick.

  • We ask that parents wear a mask, follow best practices and social distancing outside of school.

Free public testing sites are widely available in Miami, many of them provide oral swabs: LINK.

Please refer to the CDC website for more information.

We are counting on your continued cooperation and support to maintain a safe environment for all students and staff once we return from break.

Thank you and please stay safe!
