Security Protocols at EFAM

In light of the recent tragic events in Uvalde, Texas, we wanted to share some key points from our security protocols here at EFAM. Keeping the students safe is every staff member’s priority at school. Here are some of the measures implemented in our school:

  • Surveillance cameras in all school buildings (to monitor the playgrounds and campus surroundings) on both campuses, monitored by administration

  • Restricted access to the school: all entrances are kept locked at all times;

  • Outside visitors (including parents): no visitors without prior appointment and ID verification; visitors are only let inside by administration after ringing the doorbell (connected to a camera as well) and introducing themselves over the intercom; administrators will open the front gate/door themselves to let visitors in if necessary

  • Several staff members at each entry point during drop-off and pick-up

  • Children are always under the supervision of several adults when outside

  • Security and risk assessment conducted by the local police department on both campuses; security updates implemented following these assessments

  • Police called anytime suspicious activity or suspicious individuals are seen near the school; both campuses are known to local police departments

  • Active shooter training for all staff members conducted by local police departments

  • Lockdown drills conducted monthly on both campuses

  • CPR /First Aid certification delivered by local fire department to all staff members yearly

  • Security review meetings held on a regular basis among administration and staff (most recently this Wednesday May 25th)

We send our heartfelt sympathies to the Uvalde community and will continue to do our utmost to keep our students in a safe school environment.
