CO-TEACHING IN PRE-K4

Pre-K4 students of the North Campus continued their bilingual study of My Valley and Ma vallée.

My Valley is presented like a family photo album filled with souvenirs that can be read how and when we want, the reader being immersed in the imaginary world of the “Touims”.

The landscapes are rich in detail and colorful. Theodore and I have been working to develop the children’s understanding of the concept of landscape, in a way that they can relate to in both English and French.

Our touchstone has been mountain and valley, island and lake. The children brought to life, in an exciting hands-on way, what they had studied in the book.

They’ve learned to express their actions in both languages using specifics words and shades of meaning. The students were happily engaged and in awe!

Après la lecture du livre, nous avons fabriqué une île, un lac avec du sable et de l’eau colorée en bleu une montagne et une colline en papier mâché!
